I own over 400 music albums, from old vinyls to some cassettes to CD's and a few (very few) all-digital albums. I was looking at them today and realized that it was a huge vat of poetry. And I'm not talking about the song lyrics. I'm talking about the titles.

What does Boys for Pele evoke? Pele is the Hawaiian goddess of fire and volcanoes, and the title (a Tori Amos album) is about worship and/or sacrifice--to a strong, fiery female figure.

Or what about Black and Blue (Backstreet Boys). Obviously it could be a bruise, but what else: the blue, the cool of jazz; the black, the dark of night?

What about Pet Sounds (Beach Boys)? There and Back Again (Vertical Horizon)? Cities (Anberlin)? Heck, how 'bout something really, really, simple: Christmas?

I wrote one poem--"Singularity"--influenced by Mae's album of the same name. I am going through my CD collection one by one and doing the same. "Boys for Pele" is finished...next up, perhaps "Another 700 Miles" (3 Doors Down)?

David Crowder's version is better. But everything David Crowder does is better.

It deserved that much and more. I clicked through your gallery and you have a very modern take on iconographic art styles. Are they intended as icons, or am I just reading into things from a faith background?
